Overview

The Product Operations Manager drives operational excellence for ChannelAdvisor’s product management function by creating and managing supporting processes that can scale for ChannelAdvisor’s growth and customer success. This role will be responsible for executing and improving major cross-functional processes such as release processes to ensure cross-functional readiness for product releases, roadmap iteration processes to ensure on schedule roadmap revisions, and product analytics processes to ensure the team has efficient access to information produced by other departments and systems such as usage analytics, business performance, and competitive intelligence. The role requires effective project and process management, including the creativity and ability to develop processes and tools that address the needs of the function and the business. This role is accountable for the achievement of operational process objectives established on a rolling quarterly basis.

Responsibilities

  • Continuous collaboration with leaders and stakeholders in product management and other departments on improving customer success through product-related process improvements.
  • Drive implementation of plans and processes that improve the organizational efficiency and quality of software releases including cross-departmental release readiness and cross-functional release enablement.
  • Conceive and implement processes and systems using off-the-shelf collaboration and project management tools.
  • Lead regular meetings for key processes to ensure a healthy and efficient product management function that can scale as needed.
  • Drive a regular cycle of roadmap review, update, and communication across the product management team.
  • Collaborate with the usage analytics team, business operations team, and marketing team to ensure the Product team has access to timely and relevant data and measures for key areas such as usage analytics, business performance, and competitive analysis.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in business, operational, or technical discipline.
  • Experience working in a software or technology business.
  • Experience working with product management teams and/or in e-commerce is strongly preferred.
  • Experience leading cross-functional projects.
  • Ability to design, manage and implement cross-functional processes including the ability to work with off-the-shelf tools such as Monday.com and Confluence.
  • Ability and initiative to collect and analyze data using surveys and other techniques to identify problems areas and opportunities in existing processes.
  • Effective at exercising indirect leadership, collaboration, and influencing skills when working across multiple stakeholders.
  • Must be an energetic self-starter with a passion for bringing structure to chaos while being goal driven with an ability to manage projects from start to finish.
  • Has an open attitude, is humble, and willing to experiment and try new methods.
  • Excellent communicator at all levels of the organization. Communicates process clearly and with attention to detail, communicates executive status and proposals clearly and succinctly.
  • Must enjoy working in a fast-paced, dynamic, and fluid environment.
  • Training or certification in project or program management, Agile processes, and/or change management is a plus. 
  • Prior roles that may be a good fit for this position: Product Manager, Business Operations Manager, Services or Implementation Manager, Project Manager or Program Manager.
