Senior Financial Operations Analyst

ChannelAdvisor is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Senior Financial Analyst.  Supporting the Financial Planning & Analysis team, our chosen candidate will be involved in the development of our long range plans as well as recurring activities such as forecasting, budgeting, analysis, and SLT/Board meeting support.  This role will report directly to the Sr. Manager of FP&A, acting as the “right hand” and will help mentor junior analysts. This individual will also lead process improvement initiatives and champion the team’s planning and budgeting tools.


  • Support monthly close and forecast cycles, as well as Annual Budget and long term planning
  • Be the source for departmental expense and headcount tracking and reporting
  • Collaborate with leadership to achieve strategic goals within budgetary guidelines
  • Act as subject matter expert for budgeting and forecasting tool and use this expertise to create and grow the company’s business intelligence capacity
  • Lead the adoption and implementation of new features and capabilities
  • Design reporting that effectively measures performance, highlights areas of concerns, and supports decision making
  • Ensure consistent reporting and data integrity between the budgeting tool and other software applications such as SQL, Tableau, NetSuite and Salesforce


  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or Accounting
  • 5 - 7 years experience in a finance/accounting role, preferably in a SaaS or software environment
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint presentation skills
  • Experience with planning and budgeting solutions (Planful, Adaptive Insights, Anaplan, Tagetik, Prophix, Hyperion, etc.)
  • Experience with NetSuite and Salesforce strongly preferred
  • Experience with Tableau or other data visualization tools, Microsoft SQL Server or Microsoft Access a plus
  • Analytical problem-solver with excellent data analysis skills who uses data to tell the story
  • Experience working with large amounts of data, aggregating data into meaningful results, form trends, and communicating those results in a clear, compelling manner
  • Comfortable managing multiple, competing priorities
  • Enthusiastic about taking on challenging projects and working diligently to see them through
