ChannelAdvisor is looking for a Data Analyst to join our Sales Operations team. This individual will join the Global Operations organization as the primary source of all data analysis related to the sales organization. The Sales Operations Data Analyst will be responsible for the creation and delivery of data-driven tools and insights to drive strategic planning for the global sales organization. This includes data sourcing, preparation, mining and modeling - as well as presenting findings and recommendations to the executive team. This position will work cross-departmentally with sales, marketing, finance and business development (among others) to ensure consistency in data sets and methodology used to inform key business decisions.




Employ various analytical and statistical techniques for the interpretation and analysis of data related to the sales pipeline generation model and provide digestible reporting to the executive team and sales leadership team on a recurring basis

  • Develop consistent sales pipeline methodology across geographies
  • Create and maintain visualized dashboards that are utilized by the global sales team
  • Ongoing evaluation of business processes and metrics with a view toward continuous improvement
  • Research and acquire data from primary and/or secondary data sources used to enhance, append or maintain databases/data systems
  • Construct models to identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in various complex data sets to create actionable insights
  • Collaborate with global sales leadership to prioritize data and reporting needs
  • Own all sales team reporting and forecasting related to KPI’s and team / sales rep metrics
  • Provide data analysis to influence key forecasting decisions and drive business direction
  • Work cross-departmentally with marketing, finance and business development (among others) to ensure consistency in data sets and methodology used to inform key business decisions.
  • Handle all data sourcing, preparation, mining and modeling - as well as presenting findings and recommendations to the executive team.


  • 3+ years experience working as a data analyst within SFDC, ideally within a sales or marketing organization OR:
  • Masters Degree in a quantitative field with relevant internship experience
  • Possess a customer service mindset and work efficiently with multiple individuals with a focus on effective cross-department collaboration 
  • Experience with prospect lead scoring algorithms, sales pipeline models and segmentation techniques
  • Possess high analytical skills to understand problems, ask questions, and present solutions support with data
  • Strong ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • In depth knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (preferably R and Python)
  • Experience working with reporting and dashboards in Salesforce a must
  • Skilled in using visualization tools(Tableau, etc) and databases (SQL, etc)
  • Desire and ability to operate in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects and changing priorities
  • B.S. in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science or Statistics from a top-tier university

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with data research and mining efforts, system design and development (i.e., Hadoop, Java, C#, Python, Scala)
  • Ability to own business review process and present to senior leadership
