Overview

ChannelAdvisor is seeking a Director of Strategic Sales that will lead a team of Senior Strategic Account Executives with responsibility for generating revenue through prospecting, marketing and selling our suite of eCommerce solutions. ChannelAdvisor provides a suite of SaaS solutions and services to brands and retailers which enables them to effectively manage their sales activities across sites like Amazon, eBay, Target, Walmart as well as search and shopping engines like Google and Facebook. The Director of Strategic Sales will provide ongoing guidance, support and team leadership to ensure that bookings and revenue targets are met in a very metrics/KPI driven environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily leadership and support to a team of Senior Strategic Account Executives in working to achieve their monthly/quarterly/annual sales targets
  • Provide ongoing training and development to Senior Strategic Account Executives including training for new hires
  • In conjunction with senior sales leadership, develop and implement key performance indicators and measures of success for individuals as well as the team as a whole
  • Monitor sales against targets and adjust processes and sales efforts to ensure achievement of monthly, quarterly and annual goals
  • Work with other members of leadership to develop additional sales incentives and performance goals
  • Motivate team members to perform at the highest level
  • Develop broad product knowledge in order to serve as a resource to individual team members throughout the sales process including demos and presentations to ensure Senior Strategic Account Executives are effectively articulating all that ChannelAdvisor has to offer to the benefit of our clients
  • Continuously review work of Senior Strategic Account Executives to determine areas of improvement and identify new best practices

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years’ sales management experience, 5-10 years’ overall sales experience
  • BS or BA degree preferred
    Proven track record of enterprise sales success in a complex software or technology environment (preferably SaaS)
  • Ability to communicate and convey the value proposition of a complex software platform via phone and in-person meetings
  • Proven experience leading from the front in a highly consultative enterprise sales environment, supporting Senior Strategic Account Executives on calls/meetings, negotiations, to finalizing new agreements
  • Strong track record of consistent forecasting to sales leadership on a regular basis against monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets
  • Experience utilizing an enterprise level CRM (preferably salesforce.com) to monitor and manage daily, weekly and monthly sales activities of the team
  • Success in a past leadership role required to include ongoing development of individual team members through training, mentoring and overall performance management
  • Experience leading remote sales executives effectively
  • Creative thinker with an eye toward keeping a large team of Account Executives motivated and passionate about their work
  • Demonstrated history of consistent goal achievement in a competitive environment
  • Highly effective organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Proven ability to work effectively with various departments and teams
  • Energetic, professional tenacious team player with excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Outstanding relationship building skills with a high degree of responsiveness and integrity
