Overview

The Managing Director is responsible for growing revenue and leading the Company’s operations in the Asia Pacific region by providing strategic guidance and direction to ensure the organization’s mission and objectives contribute to the overall company strategy.   

The primary objective of the role is sustained and consistent revenue growth via acquisition of new clients and development + retention of the existing customer base. 

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will have experience in cross functional leadership roles, with a heavy focus on sales management and development of talent.

  • Provide strategic advice and guidance to the Senior Leadership Team, to maintain awareness of developments within the industry and to ensure that the appropriate actions are taken to meet the company’s mission and objectives and to comply with all relevant statutory and other regulations
  • Prepare a regional strategic plan and annual business plan and monitor progress against these plans to ensure that the region achieves its objectives as cost-effectively and efficiently as possible
  • Establish and maintain effective formal and informal links with major customers, key partners, relevant government departments and agencies, local authorities, key decision-makers and other stakeholders generally, to exchange information and views and to ensure that the Company is providing the appropriate range and quality of services
  • Oversee the work and resources of the region and ensure the recruitment and retention of the required numbers and types of well-motivated, trained and developed staff to ensure that it achieves its mission and objectives
  • Prepare, gain acceptance, and monitor the implementation of the annual budget to ensure that budget targets are met, that revenue flows are maximized and that fixed costs are minimized
  • Develop and maintain an effective marketing and public relations strategy to promote the products, services and image of the company in the wider community in conjunction with marketing leadership in EMEA and the US
  • Represent the company in negotiations with customers, partners, suppliers, government departments and other key contacts to secure the most effective contract terms for the company
  • Develop and direct the implementation of policies and procedures to ensure that the Company complies with all health and safety and other statutory regulations

Qualifications

  • A proven record of success in senior level general or commercial management, preferably in the e-commerce industry
  • Direct sales experience selling SaaS based solutions to large enterprises, including management of a SaaS based sales team
  • Deep understanding of pipeline management and metrics used to assess the health of a sales organization
  • Bachelor degree required; MBA preferred
  • At least ten years’ senior level experience of management of people and resources
  • An understanding of financial management and wider management principles and techniques
  • Political and presentational skills with an appreciation of the demands of conflicting interests and of meeting statutory requirements
  • A very high level of commercial awareness
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to represent ChannelAdvisor at appropriate speaking engagements
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, including the use of deep and detailed metrics to understand key business drivers
